Funeral Videos GDPR Policy

Introduction
Funeral Videos (website: funeralvideos.uk) is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our clients and attendees. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who We Are
Funeral Videos provides video recording and livestreaming services for funeral services. Our contact details are:

What Data We Collect
We only collect essential personal information directly from clients who arrange our services. This may include:

  • Name
  • Contact details (phone number, email, and address)
  • Payment information (collected through secure channels)

We do not collect any personal data from attendees at the service.

How We Use Your Data
Your personal data is used exclusively to arrange and deliver our services:

  • To communicate with you about the service details.
  • To facilitate secure video access via Vimeo, where footage is stored behind a password.

Filming and Privacy Measures
To respect the privacy of attendees, we position our cameras at the back of the space to avoid capturing close-up images of individuals. This setup ensures that attendees are generally recorded from behind, so only the backs of heads are visible. Every reasonable step is taken to ensure that only the faces of those conducting the ceremony or delivering readings and eulogies are shown.

However, due to the nature of live services where attendees may move around, complete privacy cannot always be guaranteed, but we prioritise taking every possible measure to respect and protect privacy.

Data Storage and Retention
All recorded footage is stored on offline SSDs and is also hosted on Vimeo, protected by a password. Vimeo is used solely to facilitate the original livestream and storage; Vimeo does not have access to personal data beyond the filename of the video. Personal data provided by the client is deleted once the job is complete and all service-related obligations are fulfilled.

Data Sharing
We do not share personal data with any third parties, other than with Vimeo as described, which provides secure video hosting.

Client and Attendee Rights
You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data.
  • Request correction of any inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion or alteration of recorded footage if reasonable.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at contact@funeralvideos.uk or call 0116 444 3553.

Data Security
We take data security seriously. All footage is securely stored offline and protected by password on Vimeo, limiting access to authorised personnel only.

Password and Hosted Video Changes
As the client, you can request the alteration of the password used or even request that the video is taken down in its entirety, please do let us know if you’d like to request this.  Occasionally for religious reasons a video may be streamed live only without being recorded and/or available afterwards, this is at the request of the client.

Changes to This Policy
This GDPR policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in data practices or regulations. Please check our website for the latest version.
